About me
Müge Avar, born and raised in Istanbul, is a Scenographer and Interior Architect based in Berlin, working at the Tamschick Group, a studio for media-enhanced scenography. She is a member of the International Council of Museums. Müge initially studied Business and Management and worked on EU-funded projects for Turkey's EU accession, collaborating with governorships, municipalities, and NGOs. Her passion for creativity led her to study Interior Architecture at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul, where she earned a master’s degree with a thesis on creating immersive, narrative spaces through scenography. She has since worked on museum and exhibition projects across Turkey, Switzerland, and Germany, focusing on the integration of storytelling into spatial design.
In 2019, she moved to Berlin to further pursue her passion and met Gülsah Stapel. Together, they are co-founding a project to establish the TAM Museum in Berlin, to explore the complex relationship between Turkey and Germany, challenging the narrow public narrative focused on immigration and guest workers. Both being a member of a minority in Germany with a Turkish background, Müge and Gülsah are working to expand this dialogue and promote a more nuanced understanding of their shared history, with the support of both Turkish and German communities.
