A Brazilian journalist from Salvador, Bahia, who has been working at Globo, one of the largest broadcasting and media groups in the world, since 2014. Currently he works as a screenwriter and content researcher. He is one of the creators, curators, and lead screenwriter for the Negritudes Globo Festival, an event and multimedia platform that celebrates Black narratives.
He has contributed to projects such as Prêmio Sim À Igualdade Racial (Yes To Racial Equality Award), the award-winning series Os Outros (The Others - 2nd and 3rd seasons) and other TV shows such as telenovelas (Brazilian soap operas). Dimas has also collectively created on-air campaigns celebrating Black narratives across all Globo channels and platforms. He participates in creative and corporate ethnic and racial discussion groups, implementing initiatives that inspire reflection and foster opportunity.
At Globo, Dimas has conducted analyses of national and international audiovisual formats, identifying behavioral and cultural trends, and researching the global audiovisual market. He has evaluated projects for Globo’s broadcast and pay TV channels and provided content support for the development of projects across genres, including series, reality shows, telenovelas, and nonfiction TV shows.
Last June, Dimas developed and moderated a panel at Rio2C, one of the biggest creativity events in Latin America. The theme of the discussion was “Between Conversations and Practices: Racial Inclusion in the Creative Industry.”
Before Globo, Dimas worked as a reporter and gained international experience, studying English and Public Relations in Dublin, Ireland; photojournalism in Barcelona, Spain; and working in digital marketing in Guangzhou, China.
